Library Lawn Beautification Event
We're calling on volunteers and gardening enthusiasts of all ages to help us spruce up our curb appeal before our larger landscaping renovation project kicks off in late summer/early fall. Join us on April 12 from 10am to 1pm (rain date: May 3) to wrap up National Library Week with a hands-on community effort to beautify the library lawn! This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to the ongoing care of our beautiful, historic library.
We invite you to bring any gardening tools that could help, such as wheelbarrows, rakes, loppers, pruners, 5-gallon buckets, and gloves, as well as your enthusiasm and a spirit of service. Whether you're an experienced gardener or a first-time volunteer, your efforts will make a lasting impact. Snacks will be provided, and you’ll also get an exclusive sneak peek of the exciting new landscape plan that will transform our grounds.
To help us plan accordingly, please register on our event calendar to let us know you'll be attending. Your RSVP will ensure we have enough materials and refreshments for everyone!
Please note that in order to accommodate trucks and equipment for this event, the library parking lot will be CLOSED from 9am-2pm during the beautification project. We recommend parking in nearby public spaces.
A special thank you to our first community partner, Bartlett Tree Experts, for their generous support, as well as to the Sewickley Village Garden Club and the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library for helping to make this event possible. We couldn’t do it without their collaboration!
